Clover Kitchen Display System (KDS) New Feature Update: Seamless Sync Between Front and Back of House
To optimize efficiency, Clover implemented bidirectional communication to enable real-time updates on order statuses. With the latest update to Clover’s Kitchen Display System (KDS), the integration between the front of house (FOH) and back of house (BOH) is about to become even more seamless. When the kitchen marks items as "Ready" on the KDS, the servers will immediately be notified on their Clover devices. This update ensures that the line item status will change from "Printed" to "Ready" on the server’s interface as well.
How It Works?
Here’s a step-by-step overview of the process:
1. Order is placed by the customer – As usual, the order is printed in the kitchen.
2. Kitchen marks items as "Ready" – When a dish is finished cooking and ready to be served, the kitchen staff marks it as "Ready" on the Clover KDS.
3. Line item status is synced – Immediately, the item’s status changes from "Printed" to "Ready" on the servers' devices, notifying them that the dish is prepared and ready to be served.
4. Server delivers the food – With clear visibility of which items are ready, the server can quickly and accurately deliver the dish to the table.
